Laboratory Supervisor

The successful candidate:
Hours: Mon - Fri 8:30am - 5:00pm
Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and oversee the operational activities of the assigned department(s) ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and regulatory agencies requirements.
Maintain technical expertise to evaluate, instruct and assist laboratory staff in day-to-day operations on an as needed basis.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Director and Medical Director and assist in decision-making and troubleshooting.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences or related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the applicable designated area of the laboratory.
Supervisory experience preferred, but not required.
Experience in transfusion services and cellular therapy highly preferred
Certification:
MLS preferred.
Skills:
Professional demeanor, effective collaboration and communication skills ensuring teamwork with co-workers, nursing staff, and physicians.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
Excellent organizational, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Preferred Attributes: ASCP certification, supervisory experience, and graduate degree in Medical Laboratory Science.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $31.89 - $52.55 / hour
