Position Summary
The T Cell Immunotherapy Program at City of Hope is a fast-paced lab involved in cutting-edge technology, research and clinical immunotherapy studies. We are currently looking for a staff scientist who will be a part of a translational science and product development team for our allogeneic iPSC CAR T project.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• The scientist will be responsible for design and execution of experiments enabling development of iPSC derived CAR T product, including GMP manufacturing of human iPSC cell reprogramming, iPSC bank establishment, 3D-orgnoid culture mediated CAR T cell generation, T cell expansion etc.
• Developing/Evaluating GMP compliant reagents, SOPs, processes and QC release assays.
• Hands on performance and management of process development studies and research across multiple technologies including gene editing and CAR/TCR engineering on iPSC and primary T cells, iPSC directed differentiation to T cells etc.
• Interact and collaborate with multiple teams of researchers focused on developing T cell therapies in a translational research environment. 
• This position also requires meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in lab work as well as accurate record keeping and lab documentation
• May require weekend work

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

• Ph.D  in immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry or related field with at least 2-3 years post-doctoral research experience.
• The PhD candidate will ideally have knowledge and experience in the fields of stem cell biology, iPSC reprogramming and directed differentiation, T cell development, immunotherapy, with demonstrated experience in cell biology and process development work.
• Extensive experience with mammalian cell culture, preferably including iPSC maintenance and differentiation.
• Experience in multiparameter flow cytometry, multiplex cytokine assay, gene expression profiling is highly preferred. 
• Familiarity with gene delivery approaches (viral vectors, electroporation, virus transduction) desirable.
• Ability to effectively lead a research team to successfully meet project goals.
• Outstanding collaborative and communication skills with diverse group of scientists involved in the product development.
• Ability to design and execute laboratory experiments, critically interpret experimental results, and present data in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to participate in the preparation of grant applications and scientific publications.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• A publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
