Position Summary

Provides personnel administration and supervision to Facilities workers that result in safe and a comfortable environment for patients, staff and visitors. Develops and implements a program continuously and proactively upgrades and improves the facility through the use of the software maintenance tool resulting in a safe and secure environment

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Supervises and supports Facilitates maintenance staff. Maintain and prioritize the day to day functions ensuring work requests are completed in a timely manner.
  • Review alternatives with Project Administrator for upgrades and improvements to the campus infrastructure and new building construction. Technical input of the campus with regard to maintenance equipment purchases and provide alternative way to architects and engineers for equipment upgrades.
  • Review all submitted work requests delegating as necessary and responding to problematic call assuring all customers are satisfied. Provide safe, efficient cost effective services to our customers, which is consistent with strategic plan and regulatory requirements.
  • Interacts with other departments for information, vendors and outside agencies. Verifies accurate pricing from contractors, customer service to other departments and local and state compliance.
  • Responds to campus wide disasters and promotes “tribal knowledge” for subordinates. Restores systems and provides resolutions to any disaster resulting from a natural or system failure.

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

  • Graduate from post high school trade, business or professional school.
  • 10 or more years of applicable craft(s) experience in operations and boiler & chillers. Including one (1) more years of supervisory experience and two (2) or more years’ experience with Joint Commission and/or other regulatory agencies.

Required Certification/Licensure:

  • Current and valid Steam Engineer - UnlimitedHP License, proficient on chillers operations
  • Current and valid California Driver's License.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $42.31 - $70.67 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
