Position Summary

The Compliance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating certain designated departmental activities of the Corporate Compliance Office that have enterprise-wide impact. Performs advanced clerical, administrative and general office duties. Typically reports to a position responsible for a major function. Business contacts include persons at all levels within the organization, industry, and community. Manages complex calendars, schedules meeting and appointments for senior management. Works independently with minimal supervision and requiring no instructions on routine work and limited instructions on new assignments.  Maintains confidentiality and sets a positive example of morale, attitude and motivation.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Organizes and expedites flow of work through Corporate Compliance office; initiating follow up action as appropriate.
  • Serves as department liaison with other departments to facilitate compliance training and outreach activities and coordinate outreach efforts.
  • Resolves routine and some complex inquiries and fulfills requests from internal and external business contacts using knowledge of division/department & organization policies and procedures.
  • Process and coordinate approvals for vendor contracts, purchase orders and expense reimbursements. Ensure all documentation for funds spending is appropriately maintained and filed.
  • Formats, types & edits a variety of complex or technical material, including correspondence, memos, reports, presentations and confidential material.
  • Manages complex calendars and appointments for senior management. Coordinates meetings & agenda materials. Makes arrangements for meetings/conferences/travel for department personnel. 
  • Performs and manages compliance sanction checking process.
  • Formats, types & edits a variety of complex or technical material, including correspondence, memos, reports, presentations and confidential material
  • Establishes, maintains & has frequent access to confidential files, logs & records
  • Coordinate onboarding, existing and day-to-day needs of department.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested in support of the Compliance Program.

Follows established City of Hope and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, including adherence to the workplace Code of Conduct and Compliance Plan.  Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.

Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; experience may substitute for minimum educational requirements
  • 2+ years’ experience in compliance and/ or training or a related field

Preferred education experience and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field required.
  • Experience in healthcare, compliance, workforce training or organizational development preferred.
