Position Summary

This Senior Project Manager role will support City of Hope’s strategic initiatives by managing projects of various sizes and scale under the direction of the Orange County PMO Director. Specific responsibilities partnering with assigned internal customers to assist them and their teams in developing project plans; managing and reporting schedules, risks and issues; leveraging standardized project management toolkits; coordinating and facilitating meetings; creating deliverables to support project priorities, options analysis and decision-making; and ensuring aligned communication across project teams, with internal customers, and management. The Senior Project Manager is expected to complement project management skills with industry experience, contribute best practices and demonstrate strong leadership skills to support assigned executives and other team members. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of leading large-scale, complex transformation and clinical expansion initiatives and understands the importance of navigating change at speed to yield meaningful value across a diverse matrix of external partners, clinicians, researchers and administrative stakeholders – always driving to outcomes.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for all phases of project management for complex projects, including integrated program plan development, schedule management, risk and issue management, communications and change management for assigned projects.
  • Contributes strong project management and leadership acumen to drive successful project outcomes – including on-time, on-budget delivery in alignment with City of Hope values. Has experience managing 3-6 project workstreams, 10+ project resources, and multi-year projects.
  • Produces analysis and presentations to support project priorities, options analysis and decision-making. Exercises critical thinking and evaluates options for solving problems and achieving project goals.
  • Coordinates resources to achieve cost, budget and quality expectations for projects.
  • Manages relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Builds Orange County’s project management capabilities including but not limited to knowledge sharing and formal coaching.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s in Business Administration or related discipline

Minimum Experiences: 5+ years of recent related industry experience

Preferred experience, certification, and skills:

  • PMP certified
  • Consulting firm experience preferred
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining strong relationships with a diverse set of internal and external constituencies, including senior level executives, consulting resources, technical teams, and sales representatives
