DAC Mobile Operations Technician

The Mobile Operations Support role at City of Hope is instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of the Donor/Apheresis Center, bloodmobile logistics, and mobile blood drives. This position involves a range of responsibilities, including equipment management, transportation, site evaluation, and documentation. The Mobile Operations Support team member plays a vital role in facilitating blood donation efforts and maintaining a high standard of operational efficiency.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Equipment Management: Oversee the inventory, ordering, packaging, and maintenance of supplies, equipment, and specimens related to mobile blood drives and the Donor/Apheresis Center.
  • Transportation: Drive City of Hope vehicles, including passenger vans, box trucks, and bloodmobiles, to transport equipment and personnel to various blood drive locations.
  • Blood Drive Support: Assist in the setup and teardown of bloodmobiles at on-site blood drives, ensuring equipment readiness and accessibility.
  • Site Evaluation: Evaluate potential bloodmobile sites for suitability, considering accessibility and setup requirements for 40' long bloodmobiles.
  • Quality Control: Conduct quality control checks of equipment and occasionally participate in or perform equipment validation.
  • Resource Planning: Anticipate mobile activities, assess projected blood drive volumes, and ensure the availability of necessary supplies and operational equipment.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate records, including electronic records, for all aspects of the role's responsibilities.
  • Supply Management: Organize and stock supplies used in the Donor/Apheresis Center, ensuring an adequate inventory at all times.
  • Professionalism: Demonstrate professionalism, responsibility, and a caring demeanor while interacting with donors, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Your qualifications should include:

  • High School or equivalent
  • Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements
  • One year related experience, preferably in a hospital or blood center setting, including driving large vehicles (20-40 ft), bus or truck
  • Valid CA Driver’s License with good driving record
  • CPR certification within six months of hire.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $22.11 - $33.17 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
