The laboratories of Dr. Michael A. Caligiuri and Dr. Jianhua Yu in the Departments of Hematology & Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation and Immuno-Oncology are looking for several highly motivated and creative Postdoctoral Fellows. The group conducts the most forefront science and is highly productive with publications in high-impact journals such as Cell, Nature Biotechnology, Nature Mecine, Nature Immunology, Immunity, Nature Cancer, Cancer Discovery, Science Immunology, Nature Communications, JCI, etc. in recent years. As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Devise, plan, document and advance basic science and translational projects in either of the following four areas: 1) NK cell biology including NK cell development and cell signaling 2) Innate lymphoid cells (ILCs) 3) oncolytic virotherapy 4) chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) natural killer (NK), CAR macrophages, CAR T cells, and bispecific antibodies.
  • Collect data for grant applications, prepare manuscripts for publication, and present findings at local, state, national, and international meetings.
  • Work in close collaboration with other team members and external partners from academia and industry.
  • Train and supervise technical staff.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Recent PhD in the field of either immunology, virology, or cancer immunotherapy with a strong background.
  • Evidence of scientific rigor and excellence as documented by high-impact peer-reviewed publications.
  • Previous experience in working with animal models and flow cytometry.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills and fluency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Commitment to the laboratory for at least three years.
  • Preferred qualifications: iPSC experience.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $31.00 - $34.23 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
