A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the Vaccine Research Laboratory of Dr. Don J Diamond in the Department of Hematology & Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation of the City of Hope. Dr Diamond’s research team is seeking a highly motivated candidate with experience in infectious disease and oncology.
The position is available as part of multiple research projects to develop COVID-19 and CMV vaccines based on a highly efficient and fully synthetic viral-vectored vaccine platform for pathogen preparedness and disease prevention. You will join a highly productive research team to oversee a team of technicians involved in immune monitoring in clinical vaccine and observational studies. As a successful candidate, you will:
· Have a strong background incellular immunology, with documented experience in performing immunoassays with humanblood specimens.
· Have experience inimmune monitoring,multiparameter flow cytometry, data analysis software, and measuring antigen-specific cellularimmunityis preferred.
· PhD degree in virology, viral immunology or related fields with publications and preferably 2-3 years of experience in relevant laboratory work.
· Interest and knowledge in SARS-CoV-2 and CMV vaccine research.
· Experience in ELISpot, neutralization, flow cytometry, ELISA, PBMC isolation, or related laboratory techniques.
· Willingness to work with COVID-19 pseudovirus, clinical-isolates of cytomegalovirus, and attenuated poxviruses under biosafety level 1 and 2 conditions.
· Ability to independently document scientific progress and write research articles
· Ability to perform data analysis

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $31.00 - $34.23 / hour
