The Psychometrist will administer, score and report results of a large number of age-appropriate neuropsychological tests on patients with a wide range of known or suspected neurological conditions.
The ideal caregiver is someone who:
• Has educational training sufficient to understand neuropsychology clinical terminology
• Can remain alert of cognitive deficits demonstrated by each patient.
• Encourages the patient to always give his or her best performance on a given test.
• Remains sensitive, alert, and resourceful during testing in order to tailor the approach to the patient’s special needs (especially when working with patients who have severe impairments or behavioral issues.
• Can work with individuals from varied backgrounds with a variety of physical, mental and emotional difficulties

Responsibilities:
- Accurately records responses, times and scores and writes detail behavioral observations concerning patient performance during testing.
- Maintains record keeping and data retrieval systems associated with test batteries.
- Assists other psychometrists as necessary
- Other duties assigned.
Education:
- BA in psychology or related field.
Certifications:
- None
Complexity of Work:
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate actions.
Work Experience:
- Demonstrated experience with neuropsychological behavioral assessments and test batteries preferred but not required.
- Course work in psychological tests and measurement preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity and eye hand coordination.
- Requires frequent standing and walking
- Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 75 pounds.
- May require moving patients in wheelchairs over short distances.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
