Nurse Home Visitor - NFP Program

Hiring Department
The University of Texas Permian Basin's Department of Community and Family Health welcomes applications for the position of Nurse Home Visitor

Salary Range
$73,542.00.00 depending on qualifications
Essential Functions
This position supports the Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) program by building consistent, supportive relationships with families through home visits and evidence-based nursing practice. The role focuses on promoting family well-being by conducting assessments, offering guidance in response to family needs, and ensuring services are delivered with accuracy, compassion, and professional accountability. The nurse in this role helps participants navigate resources, understand health information, and track progress through timely documentation and ongoing communication, contributing to a stable and trusting program experience.
1. Recruit and maintain a caseload of NFP families as assigned by the NFP Supervisor in alignment with NFP model guidance.
2. Serve families through in-home visits, teleservice, interactive video conferencing, or a hybrid approach based on identified family needs and model best practices.
3. Accurately document all service provision electronically and physically within designated timeframes.
4. Participate in data collection and data entry of evaluation instruments to measure program progress and impact.
5. Conduct assessments and screenings, review scores with families, and make referrals to community supports as needed.
6. Attend regular staff meetings, one-on-one meetings with the NFP Supervisor, and required professional development and training.
7. Conduct outreach and recruitment activities for the program and department throughout the year.
8. Perform other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Required Qualifications
1. Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
2. Current CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
2. Two (2) years of recent experience in maternal/child health, public health, home visiting, or mental/behavioral nursing.
3. Experience working in a home visiting setting.
4. Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Schedule
Generally, the normal work hours for the university are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 - 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may differ with some departments.
Standard Working Conditions
1. Able to lift various materials up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
2. Able to bend, crouch, and reach continuously.
3. Physically able remain seated, frequently to continuously.
4. Able to remain standing up to 15% of the time.
5. Possesses dexterity abilities required to perform job duties including extensive keyboard work, operating office equipment, performing filing, and other job-related responsibilities that include extensive wrist and hand movement.
6. Standard working conditions may differ depending on department and occupation
