Job Description

Responsibilities
Performs daily monitoring; alerts, system dashboards and alerts, and shared system logs.
Creates and maintains documentation on the support lifecycle of the endpoint operating system and application software.
Identifies vulnerable systems and notifies the system owner if patches are needed.
Provides forensic support for investigation; collaborates with Autopsy, Encase Investigator; collects evidence for investigations and correlates them into designated case reports.
Provides daily reports on firewall activity and endpoint defense and response activity.
Maintains technical documentation regarding endpoint configuration and change management.
Maintains and gains industry-specific certifications relating to cybersecurity, cloud integration, and vendor-provided certification programs.
Creates weekly summary reports of findings, significant movement on projects, and any additional job responsibilities completed.
Examines security reports for vulnerabilities and remediations; verifies completion and creates tickets for the system owner.
Utilizes reporting and other available tools to help ensure that the university maintains compliance with software licensing.
Reviews threat intelligence and applies knowledge to the UT Health Science Center environment.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of Information Technology experience; OR a combination of related work experience and education to equal six (6) years.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of mainstream Windows and MacOS computing platforms.
Knowledge of SCCM client management as well as other deployment, packaging, and systems management technologies, such as JAMF Pro Suite, InTune, group policy and WSUS.
Knowledge of configuration and change management procedures and documentation requirements.
Understanding basic networking and firewall configuration.
Strong troubleshooting and creative problem-solving skills.
Ability to develop and maintain procedures, documentation, and guides.
Knowledge of PowerShell, bash, and Unix command line.
Ability to correlate malicious events with users’ machines for remediation.
Knowledge of how to locate and audit system logs between multiple operating system platforms and iterations.
