Job Description

Summary

A Staff Scientist position is available in Dr. Jin Wang's group to work on small molecule drug discovery. Will synthesize compounds and test their biochemical and biological activities.

Job Duties

  • Develop biochemical and cellular assays to support medicinal chemistry in drug discovery projects
  • Synthesize novel compounds
  • Report weekly to the PI about the project progress
  • Plan, direct and conduct research experiments
  • Evaluate and analyze data
  • Develop research techniques and perform applications required for specific research projects
  • May conduct literature searches and summarize information in an appropriate format for a particular study
  • Document results of experiments and report to principal investigators
  • May supervise, schedule and coordinate the activities of less experienced research staff
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctoral Degree. Experience may not be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Three years of post doctoral research experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in organic chemistry
  • Minimum of 3 years of postdoc experience in drug discovery
