Job Description
Job SummaryThe Data Analyst will provide analytical, reporting, data management, and development support for the Center of Excellence in Early Childhood Learning and Development and its affiliated extramurally funded projects. This position is responsible for collecting, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data to support program operations, grant reporting requirements, program evaluation initiatives, and strategic decision-making. The incumbent will develop dashboards, reports, data visualizations, and presentations to effectively communicate findings and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.
The Data Analyst will work collaboratively across teams and demonstrate the ability to contribute effectively within a team-oriented environment while supporting a culture of continuous improvement and data-informed practice. In addition to analytical responsibilities, this position will perform administrative support functions essential to the successful operation and coordination of program activities and funded projects.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated skill in developing dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using relevant analytical and reporting software platforms to effectively communicate complex information and support data-informed decision-making.
Ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and synthesize data from multiple sources to identify trends, areas of concern, operational needs, and opportunities for improvement.
Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical and analytical findings to diverse audiences, including clinical, administrative, academic, community, and external stakeholders.
Knowledge of data management principles and a strong commitment to data integrity, accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with applicable privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, grant-driven environment while effectively prioritizing tasks, managing competing deadlines, and maintaining attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of internal and external partners, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., public health, health informatics, data science, and/or a related discipline) and two (2) years of relevant data analysis or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
OR
Proficiency with data analysis, reporting, and visualization tools. Familiarity with health information systems, program databases, and data management practices relevant to grant-funded research or healthcare settings.
OR
An equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree.
Applicable data analytics certification (e.g., Tableau Desktop Specialist, SPSS, Excel, REDCap).
Experience with HIPAA and applicable data privacy standards.
Physical Demands
Sitting for extended periods (e.g., at a computer or workstation)
Carrying files, equipment, or supplies short distances
Frequent typing or keyboard use
Visual acuity to read printed and electronic materials
Hearing to distinguish sounds (e.g., phone calls, alarms)
Speaking clearly in noisy environments
