The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Cincinnati (UC) is searching for a full-time academic Surgical Pathologist to participate in surgical pathology subspecialty services that align with the candidate’s interests. Experience and/or subspecialty training in cytopathology or molecular pathology is desired, but not required. In addition to clinical service and resident/fellow teaching, the position offers excellent opportunities for participation in collaborative research. The successful candidate will join a highly collegial faculty group. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with experience. Essential Functions
Participation in surgical pathology case review and interpretation, with preparation of diagnostic pathology reports.
Provision of consultations to other types of physicians regarding diagnoses and medical implications.
Participation in on-call coverage.
Participation in multidisciplinary conferences aligned with clinical service responsibilities.
Teaches pathology residents, medical students, and fellows.
Attends sectional/divisional/departmental meetings and educational events.
Performs related duties based on departmental need.
Minimum Requirements
Must have all the following prior to effective date of appointment:
Medical degree (MD or DO).
Completion of four-year residency/training in Pathology.
Active and unrestricted Ohio State Medical License.
Additional Qualifications Considered
Board-certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology.
