Description
The School of Psychology and Brain Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) at the University of New England (UNE) invites applications for an Adjunct Assistant Teaching Professor to teach Research Methods in Psychology in Fall 2026. The successful candidate will join an energetic, dedicated, and productive group of faculty with expertise across the behavioral sciences including psychology, neuroscience and animal behavior.
The start date for this position is September 2, 2026.The successful candidate will teach one section of Research Methods (PSY 285), which meets on Tuesdays and Fridays from 2:00-3:20 p.m. on the Biddeford campus. The appointment runs from Wednesday, September 2, 2026, through Friday, December 10, 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Introducing students to fundamental knowledge of research methods used in psychological sciences and helping them apply these concepts to studying behavior.
  • Developing and presenting instruction aligned with the student learning outcomes of the course.
  • Meeting at designated class periods.
  • Grading student assignments in a timely manner.
  • Submitting mid-semester progress reports and final grades by University deadlines.

Qualifications
A master's degree (or bachelor's degree with relevant experience) in psychology or a closely related field is required at the time of appointment. Candidates with a Ph.D. and/or undergraduate teaching experience are preferred. Basic skills in conducting research with human participants are required.
