As a Research Coordinator I, you will play a vital role in a large-scale brain health study focused on improving the understanding of dementia and other neurological diseases. In this highly clinical role, you will enroll participants into research studies, conduct study visits, complete patient intakes, administer cognitive and psychological assessments, collect questionnaires and assist with blood draws. You will also have opportunities to receive training in phlebotomy and specimen processing, expanding your clinical research skill set. Working with participants primarily between the ages of 50 and 80, you will help support a long-term research initiative that aims to follow 20,000 patients over 20 years, generating valuable insights that may lead to future advances in prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Assistwith coordinating the compliant implementation and conduct of human subject research projects.

  • Maintain regulatory documents and binders, conduct data management, complete IRBsubmissionsand communicate with the research team.

  • Report and complete serious adverse events and/or safety logs.

  • Communicate with sponsors,monitorsand research personnel to ensure all aspects of study compliance.

  • Collaborate with primary investigators,sponsorsand research caregivers to plan,conductand evaluate project protocols, including research subject recruitment.

  • Schedule pre-site selection visits, site initiation visits, webinars,monitoringand close-out visits.

  • Plan, conduct and evaluate project protocols and research subject recruitment.

  • Monitor and report project status and research data.

  • Complete regulatory documents, data capture, monitoringplansand protocol-related activities.

  • Assistwith preparing and responding to audits andmaintainingresearch tools.

  • Complete certification in Human Subjects Research as required by the Responsible Conduct of Research guidelines adopted by Cleveland Clinic.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • HighSchoolDiploma or GEDand two years of clinical research or healthcare experience

  • ORAssociate’s or Bachelor’sDegree in a healthcare or a science-related field

  • Demonstratedproficiencywith various computer-based skills (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, data entry, and EPIC)

  • Understanding of the basic concepts of study design

  • Within90 daysof hire,mustsuccessfully complete certification in Human Subjects Research as required by the Responsible Conduct of Research guidelines adopted by Cleveland Clinic

  • Strong organizational,communicationand interpersonal skills

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Associate’s orBachelor’sDegree inahealthcare or a science-related field

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods

  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information

  • In some locations, ability to move up to 25 pounds

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $20.77

Maximum hourly: $31.68

A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
