What Your Job Will Be Like:

The Facilities Integrated Services team is seeking an experienced Engineering, Systems Integration, and Implementation Professional. The successful candidate will provide support for various construction and maintenance projects across Sandia National Laboratory sites. Responsibilities include overseeing subcontractors, serving as the SDR for the Asbestos program, and leading improvements to construction safety programs.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Engage in engineering and technical projects for Sandia and contractors to ensure all aspects of ES&H are integrated in the work being performed.
  • Work with customers both internal and external to develop trust-based relationships supporting all work activities performed within ES&H guidelines.
  • Provide technical support to all facilities projects to ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policy, and procedures.
  • Assist facilities in the planning and execution of projects and apply technical knowledge to achieve project objectives and deliverables.
  • Use technical judgment to participate in teams to identify potential project risks, develop risk mitigation strategies and corrective actions, and recommend risk acceptance or avoidance for all aspects of the project.
  • Negotiate with the customer on matters of customer requirements and limitations.
  • Conduct technical and program reviews to report status of cost, schedule, and performance to management and customers.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Conduct project postmortems and use lessons learned for process improvements on future projects.
  • Participate in engineering and technical projects applying systems engineering principles, including modeling, simulation, and integrated analysis, to ensure that all aspects of ES&H and technical requirements are fully incorporated.

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite 100% of the time.

Salary Range:

$102,400 - $199,700

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require:

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, STEM, or other relevant field, plus five (5) or more years of relevant experience; Or equivalent combination of related education and relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Master¿s degree in Safety Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, STEM, or other related field, plus one (1) or more years¿ experience.
  • Professional certification (CSP, CIH, CHMM, PMP).
  • Knowledge and experience with OSHA CFR 1910 and 1926 regulations.
  • Understanding of safety practices, policies, and procedures such as job hazard analysis, construction specific safety plans, and pre-task plans.
  • Understanding of various physical, mechanical, and electrical documents including drawings, schematics, and operational manuals.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate ES&H rules and regulations and make recommendations.
  • Knowledge of Sandia's facilities and operational Policies, procedures, and safety practices.
  • Experience in technical project leadership, developing policies, and procedures.
  • Experience leading in a technical team environment with a customer service focus.
  • Experience with Earned Value, P6 or other project management tools or software.

About Our Team:

The Facilities Integrated Services, Department supports ES&H/Asbestos Management efforts and provides communications, publications, support to the facilities operations for construction and maintenance activities.
